Weight Loss Supplements Recall

On July 17, 2009 the Young You Corporation voluntarily removed four of their dietary supplements that were sold to promote weight loss because they contained an ingredient that was not declared by the company.

The Young You Corporation pulled Slimbionic, SlimDemand capsules, One Weight Loss Pill, and Botanical Weight Loss due to the fact that they each contained Sibutramine which is a drug that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use as an appetite suppressant.

While Sibutramine is an FDA approved drug, the dietary supplements by the Young You Corporation are not drugs and do not require approval by the FDA. In addition, Sibutramine has been known to increase blood pressure substantially. It also can increase pulse rates and is an even bigger risk for anyone who has a history of heart disease, congestive heart failure, any type of heart arrhythmias or previously had a stroke.

All of the dietary weight loss products were sold on the internet and as well as at the company's Weight Loss and Rejuvenation Center in Tarzana, CA. All of the products that were sold were distributed as 30 capsules per box and include Sibutramine as an active pharmaceutical ingredient.

The company took action voluntarily and was working directly with the FDA in recalling the products. Young You is concerned about the health of its customers and the safety of the public in purchasing and using its products.
