Zoloft is an antidepressant in a family of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which physicians prescribe for the treatment of depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress and for the relief of premenstrual symptoms. Babies exposed to Zoloft in the womb may also suffer these other Zoloft side effects: respiratory distress, cyanosis, apnea, seizures, temperature instability, feeding difficulty, vomiting, hypoglycemia, hypotonia, hypertonia, hyperreflexia, tremor, jitteriness, irritability and constant crying.
