Drunk Driver Causes Multicar Accident on Queens Hwy, Victim Dies in Fiery Explosion
A drunken driver is allegedly responsible for an accident involving four vehicles and the death of one man on the Grand Central Parkway in Hillcrest Thursday night.
According to the New York Daily News, Michael Carrasquillo, 28, crashed his PT Cruiser into four other cars just before 4 a.m. on the highway in Queens. A witness said Carrasquillo was speeding at least 70 miles per hour and plowed through a group of cars.
The accident caused one of the cars to explode and burst into flames, burning beyond recognition and killing an unidentified 37-year-old victim. The other victims were not seriously injured.
Police charged Carrasquillo, of East Harlem, with driving while intoxicated and vehicular manslaughter.
