He is fully committed to his clients and their cases
To succeed in the trial of a medical malpractice case, patients and their families should be represented by an attorney with a high level of expertise.
Mr. Burnett has prosecuted, and defended, malpractice cases for over 20 years. He now represents only patients and their families, but he has also defended doctors and hospitals. Because of his success on both sides of the fence, he knows how a patient's case must be prepared, and how the defendants will attack it.
Medical malpractice cases are difficult for patients and their families to win. Doctors create the standards by which they are to be judged. The jury must be persuaded that the defendants departed or deviated from those standards, no matter how bad the injury. The doctors also create the medical record on which many juries rely, though those records are only given to the patient or their attorney after there has been a bad result. The defense will claim that the underlying condition caused all or most of the damages. Most potential experts prefer to defend other doctors.
Mr. Burnett presents compelling cases that can lead to good results. He accepts only cases involving serious injuries or death. Many of his trials are done for other plaintiff's trial attorneys, who have chosen to rely on
his abilities as evidenced by his proven record of forceful representation and success.
